WHAT IS UCEED?

UCEED is the undergraduate common entrance examination for design which is conducted by IIT Bombay for the aspirants who want to secure their spot at the prestigious IIT Bombay.

Courses Under UCEED

UCEED is for those candidates who aspire to take admission in the uceed bachelor of design (b. des) from IIT- b, IIT – b, IIT – g, or iitdmj, for those aspirants it’s a must exam.  

UCEED Exam Dates

UCEED is usually conducted in the first month of the year. For admission to this year’s session, IIT Bombay will be conducting UCEED in the month of January 2023. The online application form for UCEED 2023 has already started.

UCEED Exam Pattern

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design -UCEED is an examination conducted for 3 hours. The aspirant has to appear for the exam according to the dates given.  All the candidates who are aspiring to apply for the UCEED Exam should aim to obtain good marks to qualify for the exam and ensure their admission in the course of their choice in the prestigious IIT.

Eligibility Criteria For UCEED Examination

  1. The age limit for all the candidates is different according to the course.
  2. The General or OBC – NCL category candidates must bear on or in the month of October and the year 1992. The SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates must bear on or in the month of October 1997.
  3. The aspirant must their 10 + 2 class or any equivalent examination in 2023, or they must appear in 2023.
  4. Candidates who wish to appear in the examination and fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned can attempt only twice in the time period of two consecutive years. Although aspirants need to meet the score criteria in the exams to secure admission in the BDES program.
  5. The candidates who have appeared for the first time in their Class XII examination in 2023 or earlier are not eligible to appear for the UCEED Exam.
  6. Aspirants from fields like arts, science, and commerce are also eligible to apply for the UCEED exam.
  7. Candidates who belong to the science stream and have studied subjects such as physics, chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIITDM Jabalpur. Candidates from any other stream of science without math or physics or chemistry, commerce and arts, and humanities have to only apply at only IIT Bombay and IIITDM Jabalpur.

What exactly is the UCEED Exam?

Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a design entrance exam administered by IIT Bombay to shortlist candidates for admission to B.Des programmes at IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. The UCEED exam is given at the national level once a year in 24 cities across the country.

The UCEED 2023 exam is divided into two parts: part A and part B. Part A of the UCEED will be administered on a computer, while Part B will be administered on paper. The UCEED 2023 exam lasts three hours in total.

Students with valid UCEED exam scores can apply for admission to the result-sharing institutes in addition to the UCEED participating institutes. These result-sharing institutes, however, will not participate in IIT Bombay's Joint Admission Process. As a result, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of the institute to which they wish to be admitted.

UCEED Syllabus Revised (Effective from 2024)

The syllabus and exam structure for UCEED entrance exams have been revised by IIT Bombay. UCEED's revised syllabus and structure will go into effect in 2024.

The question paper will be divided into two parts, according to the new UCEED paper structure: Part A and Part B.

Part A will be administered via computer-based test and will include three sections: NAT, MSQ, and MCQ.

Part B will include two questions: one on drawing and one on design aptitude.

Part B's question will be displayed on the computer screen, and the answer should be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the supervisor.

Part B has a running time of 60 minutes.

UCEED 2023 Eligibility Criteria 

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will specify the UCEED 2023 eligibility criteria that candidates must meet in order to take the UCEED exam. Before completing the UCEED 2023 application form, candidates should review the UCEED eligibility criteria 2023. Applicants should have passed the HSC/ 10+2 board exam, according to last year's trends. UCEED eligibility criteria include the qualifying exam, minimum qualifying exam marks, age limit, and many more.

UCEED Qualification Rules:

The qualification rules for showing up for UCEED 2023 test are:

 

    To be qualified for showing up in UCEED 2023, competitors should be brought into the world on or after October 1, 1998, on the off chance that they have a place with the open or OBC-NCL class, and on the off chance that they have a place with SC, ST, PWD class, they should be brought into the world on or after October 1, 1993.
