No.
The NIFT does not require UGC, the HRD ministry, and AICTE accreditation.
The Ministry of Textiles includes NIFT, an organization with ISO certification. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) was founded in 1986 by India's Ministry of Textiles. The NIFT Act, passed by the Indian Parliament in 2006, established it as a statutory institution with the authority to grant degrees. To develop a size chart specifically for India, the National Institute of Fashion Technology is working with the Ministry of Textiles. In 2021, the project was finished. There are now 17 NIFT locations in India.
In 1986, the city of New Delhi opened its first campus. Bengaluru campus was established in 1997 after campuses in Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, and Mumbai did so in 1995. Over the past ten years, campuses have been built in Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, Srinagar, and Panchkula. The newest node to the NIFT network is located in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar Campus.
Hi,
No... NIFT is not part of the HRD ministry, and it has nothing to do with AICTE accreditation. NIFT is an ISO-certified organization that is part of the Ministry of Textiles. India's Ministry of Textiles established the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in 1986. In 2006, the Indian Parliament passed the NIFT Act, designating it as a statutory institute with the right to offer its degrees. The National Institute of Fashion Technology is collaborating with the Ministry of Textiles to create an India-specific size chart. The project was completed in 2021. NIFT now has 17 locations across India. The first campus in New Delhi was launched in 1986. Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, and Mumbai campuses opened in 1995, followed by the Bengaluru campus in 1997. Campuses have been established at Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, Srinagar, and Panchkula in the last decade.
To get admission to NIFT one needs to go through the NIFT entrance exam that is conducted once a year in two phases.
