So, there is no method to acquire direct admission to NIFT. NIFT has a separate entrance exam that candidates must pass in order to be admitted.
Following the written test (CAT & GAT), qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a Situation test (Bachelors) & GD/PI (Masters).
NIFT entrance exam is conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) every year. The students are required to clear the NIFT entrance exams. The NIFT exam will now be performed in an online, remote-proctored style due to the pandemic situation.
Candidates must take the CAT and GAT written tests to be admitted to B.Des and M.Des programs.
Candidates are shortlisted for a Situation Test (B.Des) and GD/PI interview based on their CAT and GAT scores (M.Des). Candidates for the B.FTech, M.FTech, and MFM program, on the other hand, just need to take the GAT test.
The B. Des degree at NIFT is available in six specialties, each having a seat intake of 42 students. Admission to the institution is determined by the results of two admission exams, the CAT and the GAT. Students who pass both examinations must take the SAT to be considered for the final round of selection. As of August 1 in the year of admission, the candidate must be 24 years old (29 years for SC/ ST/ PWD students).
At the postgraduate level, NIFT provides M. Des, MFM, and MFTech programs. Admission is granted on the basis of a legitimate written test result, followed by a GD/PI round. Candidates must obtain a valid score in the CAT and GAT, followed by a GD/PI round, in order to be considered for admission to the M. Des program.
Candidates for MFM and M. F. Tech programs must pass the GAT, which is followed by a GD/PI round.
