Eligibility requirements for BDes applications

An applicant must simultaneously meet ALL three of the following requirements in order to apply for admission to the BDes programmes offered by the participating institutes, which include IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur.

Criteria 1: If the candidate falls under the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category, they must've been born on or after October 1, 1997, and if they fall under the SC, ST, or PwD categories, they must have been brought into the world on or after October 1, 1992.

Criteria 2: UCEED qualification: The candidate must have qualified in UCEED 2022 by earning a rank.

Criteria 3 - Qualifying examination: The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2021 or 2022 with a grade of "pass" in each of the five topics. Those who took their qualifying test for the first time in 2020 or earlier are NOT eligible.

All five participating institutes accept applications from candidates from the Science Stream who have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their chosen academic disciplines. IIT Hyderabad, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bombay are all accepting applications from candidates from all other streams. Only those with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biology as a 10+2 subject may apply for admission to the BDes programme at IIITDM Jabalpur. For IIITDM Jabalpur's BDes admissions, 10+2 students majoring in the arts or humanities are ineligible to apply.
