The National Institute of Fashion Technology, which administers the entrance exam, determines NIFT Eligibility. Before filling out the NIFT Application form, interested candidates must meet the qualifying requirements. Candidates can see if they are eligible to take the NIFT Entrance Exam by checking out the list below.
Before filling out the Application Form, an applicant must meet the fundamental eligibility requirements specified by NIFT. The eligibility criteria is categorized in the below form:
For B. Des Courses (Fashion Design/ Leather Design/ Accessory Design/ Textile Design/ Knitwear Design/ Fashion Communication
● Candidate should have passed their 10+2 level of education from any stream
● Candidates with 3-4 yr of diploma program recognized by AICTE or State Board
● Candidates appearing for the 10+2 exam
● Candidates who have passed from a foreign university recognized by the association of Indian universities
● The candidate should not be more than 23 years of age
For B. F. Tech Course (Apparel Production)
● Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Math as their subject
● Candidates who have passed from a foreign university recognized by the association of Indian universities
● Candidates appearing for the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Math as their subject
● The candidate should not be more than 23 years of age
For M. Des Course
● The candidate must have passed the undergraduate degree from a recognized university
● No age limit
For M. F. Tech Course
● Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in B. F. Tech
● No age limit
The seats reserved for the various category are as follows,
● Scheduled Caste - 15%
● Scheduled Tribes 7.5%
● Other Backward Caste (non-creamy)- 27%
● Person With Disability - 5%
● Foreign Nationals/SAARC/NRI - 15%
● State Domiciles - 20%
B.Des Admission Eligibility for NIFT
Aspiring candidates must have passed a 10+2 board exam from a recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as the Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
Any Board/Public School/University Examination administered in India or abroad that is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as being equivalent to the 10+2 system
Candidates are able to apply if they successfully finish the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination (London, Sri Lanka, Cambridge, at the Advanced (A) level, or International Baccalaureate (IB)).
Students will also be qualified if they obtained at least five passing grades in the National Open School's 10+2 test.
Students will also be qualified if they obtained at least five passing grades in AICTE or the State Board of Technical Education recognises a 3 or 4-year degree.
B.F.Tech Eligibility Requirements for NIFT (Apparel Production)
Students must successfully complete the Class 12 test on the 10+2 pattern from any reputable Central or State Board of Secondary Examination, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and the Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
Any public school, board, or university exam that is analogous to the 10+2 system in India or another country must include Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as required courses. The Association of Indian Universities must approve it.
International Baccalaureate (IB) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
a three- or four-year engineering diploma from any programme accredited by the AICTE, a state board of technical education.
a passing score on the National Open School's Higher Secondary Education Examination in at least five disciplines, including mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
