Since 2006, COA has administered the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) by the guidelines of the CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983, which were published in the Indian Gazette.
Based on a legitimate NATA score, only the involved competent authorities of the different states/institutions may make admissions. The NATA ensures that all over the nation's architectural institutions, the eligibility requirements for access to five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree programs, as set forth by the CoA and adequately recognized by the Central Government, are carefully adhered to and followed.
More than 600 institutions in India recognize NATA results for admission to design programs, including B. Arch and M. Arch; however, choosing the ideal college is crucial for professional development.
The NATA-affiliated colleges include the Sir J. J. College of Architecture in Mumbai, the Department of Architecture at the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee, the Chandigarh College of Architecture in Chandigarh, the Sushant School of Arts and Architecture in Gurgaon, as well as many others that offer on-campus and off-campus housing options.
