WHAT IS B. ARCH? 

B. Arch or you can say bachelor in architecture course which is an under graduation course. The duration of this course is 5 years. Various colleges that offer architecture course, take admission through various entrance exams. There are numbers of entrance exam for Architecture course. But in between them 2 exams are mainly popular. 

Here is the 2 popular entrance exam for NATA

1. THE JEE-MAIN PAPER 2

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination, an engineering entrance exam conducted to get admission in various Indian engineering colleges and institution. JEE conducts by the Joint seat allocation authority. There are two different types of JEE- Mains and advance. 
There are total of 23 IIT, 31 NIT, 25 IIIT campuses and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), which take admission on the basis of JEE score. 
 JEE-Mains, or can be said All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an national level entrance examination to take admission to various technical undergraduate programs like B. Tech, B. Arch etc across colleges in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency. It is usually conducted twice every year.

JEE MAINS CONSISTS OF ONLY TWO PAPERS:

  • Paper 1: it is for B.E./B.Tech courses
  • Paper 2: it is for B.Arch and B.Planning courses.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR JEE MAINS PAPER 2

  • There is no age limit specified by NTA to sit for JEE Mains paper 2. 
  • Candidates appearing for JEE Mains Paper 2 must have Mathematics in their Class 12. Candidates must have pass their 10+2 examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subject combination.

2. ABOUT NATA

NATA, National aptitude test of architecture, is an entrance exam which is conducted by National Institute of advanced studies in architecture (NIASA) the body of council of Architecture in India. This entrance exam is a national level examination. Students who are willing to study Bachelor of architecture or some other relevant architecture courses at all recognized institutions across India, can give NATA after their 12th examination.

ELIGIBILITY-

  • You need to pass your 10+2 examination with mandatory subjects Physics, chemistry and maths from any recognised board. 
  • Or you should have 10+3 degree with mandatory subject mathematics. 
  • Moreover there are many colleges which accept NATA score. Or take admission on the basis of NATA results. So it is important to check the cut off of every colleges and institutions first. Different colleges has different NATA cut off. If you want to study in your preferred college you must match the cut off. You must score above 80-90% to study in a top notch college.
