Jindal Creative Aptitude Test (JCAT) is an online home proctored qualifying examination for admission to the Bachelor of Design (B. Des.)- Interior, Community & Urban Development and B.A. (Hons.), Environment Studies software supplied at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA), Sonipat, Haryana.

Qualifying Criteria: To get shortlisted for the interview & portfolio, you must rate 50% marks in JCAT Part A.
The test is structured around analytical questioning and reading of visuals and texts. It checks how college students can relate a range of types of know-how about the built surroundings through objective and subjective questions. Part A: Total Marks- 100- Duration 2 Hours

About JCAT:

The check will be performed online, with no paper component. It will be a 2-hour-long test, nominally divided into 4 areas of 30 minutes each, and there will be no negative marking. The ordinary questions will be as described below:

Section -1

Verbal & Quantitative–

Duration- 30 Minutes, Total Questions-20, Total Marks- 20 (Weightage 20%)

This section will comprise multiple-choice analytic questions. These questions will normally investigate your capacity to make inferences from data, interpret graphs and diagrams, apprehend concepts, and discriminate between fact and opinion.

Section -2

Visual Reasoning –

Duration 30 Minutes, Total Questions- 8, Total Marks- 24 (Weightage 24%)

These will be image-based, non-verbal type analytic & comparative questions. This area will investigate your potential to use integral questioning and logic development towards hassle discovering and solving.

Section -3

Making & Materiality –

Duration 30 Minutes, Total Questions- 2, Total Marks- 30 (Weightage 30%)

This area will have snapshots of everyday objects/structures. Selected parts/elements will be tagged, and you will be expected to describe what you see – connections, materials used, and steps in the construction/meeting of the object/structure. This area will examine your potential to ‘deconstruct’ day-to-day objects/structures and exhibit your potential to parent out how matters are put together.

Section -4

Verbal Ability English –

Duration- 30 Minutes, Total Questions- 13, Total Marks- 26 (Weightage 26%)

This section will have two units of questions quick reasoning and long reasoning to choose your competencies in phrase power, sentence correction, using the right grammar, spotting errors, understanding analogies, and how well you analyze written information.
