WHAT IS IIT JEE MAINS PAPER 2? 

IIT JEE mains paper 2 comes from JEE which is conducted by IIT. IIT stands for Indian Institutes of Technology, a group of autonomous prestigious engineering and technology-oriented institution of national level. And JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination, an engineering entrance exam conducted to get admission in various Indian engineering colleges and institution. JEE conducts by the Joint seat allocation authority.
JEE mains paper 2 is the national level entrance exam for those candidates who wants to study B. Arch and B. Planning courses from India's top notch colleges like IITs. There are total of 23 IIT, 31 NIT, 25 IIIT campuses and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), which take admission on the basis of JEE score.

Exam pattern-

this exam occur in online and offline mode. There will be mathematics, aptitude test and planning in online mode and drawing test will be in offline mode.

Duration of exam

The test will be for 3 hours for B. Arch candidates. Those candidate who choose B. Arch and B. Plan both together, for them the exam will be around 3.5 hours. And 4 hours for the candidates with disabilities. 

Number of questions

Exam for B. Arch will consist 82 questions within which 30 will be for mathematics, 50 for aptitude test and 2 for drawing. Exam for B. Plan will consist 105 questions within which 30 will be for mathematics, 50 for aptitude and 25 for planning.

Types of questions- 

  • Mathematics and Aptitude part will have questions like objective type and numerical value. This part will have questions on such topics- 

Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials. Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build-environment. Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualising. different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal)

  • Drawing part will have questions on drawing and sketching to evaluate candidate's creative skills. This will consist questions on such topics-

Drawing and Designing of geometrical or abstract shapes & patterns in pencil, Transformation of forms both 2D and 3D union, Elevation and 3D views of objects rotation, Development of Surfaces and Volumes, Generation of Plan, Creating 2D & 3D compositions using given shapes and forms, Sketching of activities from memory of urban scenes.
