COMMON ENTRANCE EXAM FOR DESIGN (CEED)

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is an annual joint exam held by all IITs and the Indian Institute of Science for post-graduate studies in technology design. The Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is intended to evaluate a candidate's aptitude for design, which includes visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving abilities. It is specifically used for admission to a variety of design courses in the fields of product design, industrial design, visual communication, animation graphics, vehicle design, and mobility.

IIT Bombay administers CEED. It serves as a prerequisite for admission to Master of Design (MDes) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, and various other IITs and design schools, as well as Ph.D. programs at IIITDM Jabalpur. Being accepted into any of these programmes does not guarantee qualification in CEED alone. The final selection and admission process may involve additional exams and/or interviews from the admitting institutes.

Exam Pattern of CEED Entrance Exam:

IIT Bombay announced the CEED exam pattern in September, along with the exam notice. Candidates who intend to take the CEED must become acquainted with the CEED exam pattern in order to comprehend the structure and marking scheme of the question paper.

The CEED test is broken into two sections: Part A and Part B. The design entrance exam is divided into two parts, which are held on the same day but at different times.

Part A CEED Exam Pattern :

Part A of the CEED test is made up of objective-type questions such as MCQ, MSQ, and NAT. Candidates must complete the CEED Part A exam on a computer in one hour. This component of the CEED exam includes questions on Visual and Spatial Ability, Environmental and Social Awareness, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, Language, Observation, and Design Sensitivity.
