The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a renowned institution for fashion education that constantly develops in order to keep up with the shifting consumer trends. The first fashion education institution in India, NIFT was founded in 1986 and has led the way in supplying skilled labor to the textile and apparel industries through its 16 campuses. An Act of the Indian Parliament designated the President of India as the "Visitor" and made NIFT a statutory institution in 2006. The focus has been on teaching students how to apply the fundamental strength of art and culture to the current and vibrant world of fashion.
The Campus Placements program gives graduate students from a range of postgraduate and undergraduate programs a platform to realize their professional goals. As a result, it necessitates the enthusiastic and consistent involvement of employer organizations. The energy, creativity, talent, technical know-how, and legacy of their predecessors are all carried by NIFT graduates, combining to make them invaluable assets to the organizations they join.
The hostels offered by NIFT-associated colleges have complete wifi coverage and provide free, lightning-fast internet, laundry, sports room, gyms, and health care centers. Every residence hall has a separate mess in it. The academic buildings on campus are easily accessible from the hostels. Dormitory spaces are prioritized for students from rural regions. Students may choose to live outside in approved PG or rented accommodation alone or in groups if it is acceptable.
