The Council of Architecture is a statutory body which is constituted by Indian government, under the provisions of Parliament od India's Architects Act, 1972. The Council of Architecture maintain the register of architect, also regulates the education and practice of profession throughout India.
Council of Architecture (COA) conduct National aptitude test in Architecture (NATA) which is the entrance exam for B. Arch course in various Indian colleges or universities at national level.
Candidates who are willing to carry on the profession of architect, must have registered themselves with Council of Architecture and crack the NATA.
By January 2020, there are total 465 approved institutions to impart architectural education in India leading to recognized qualifications.
