The full form of CEED is common entrance examination for design. 

ABOUT CEED

IIT Bombay conducts CEED national level entrance which stands for common entrance examination for design to take admission to the M. Des and PhD courses offered by IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. Also, the PhD course is available at several IITs and design schools.

CEED exam pattern

CEED has two parts – part A and part B.
Part A which will be held online and include objective-type questions, as NAT, MCQ. MSQ. It’s a 100 marks paper which will conduct for 1 hour
Part B. will held in offline mode, to test the design, drawing, and writing skills of the candidate. It’s a 100 marks paper which will conduct for 2 hours. 

Syllabus for CEED

Candidates must check the CEED syllabus before starting preparation. The entire CEED syllabus is divided into part A and Part B. 

CEED syllabus - Part A

  • Visualization and spatial ability
  • Environmental and social awareness
  • Analytical and logical reasoning
  • Language and creativity
  • Design thinking and problem solving
  • Observation and design sensitivity

CEED Syllabus - Part B

  • Drawing
  • Creativity
  • Communication Skills
  • Problem Identification Skills

Eligibility criteria for CEED

  • There is no age limit to sit for CEED. They can participate in CEED as many time as they want. 
  • Candidates must have complete their 3 years degree or diploma or under graduate degree programme (after 10+2 level). 
  • Candidates who are going to appear in the final examination of a 3 years degree or diploma or under graduate programme, can apply for CEED. But in this case they must complete their qualifying exam before the time of admission, or must pass the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) before admission. 

CEED 2023

CEED 2023 will be held around the last week of January 2023 in 24 cities across the country. Candidates can start applying for CEED 2023 starting from October 5, 2022 to November 11, 2022. CEED 2023 Registration fee for general candidates are 3200 and for ST/SC /PwD/ Female are 1600.
