NIFT SITUATION TEST ENTRANCE EXAM

The last part of the entrance exam is the NIFT Situation Test. Candidates who have applied for the Bachelor of Design Program will take a Situation Test after passing the written exam, according to NIFT. The Situation Test is primarily used to assess a candidate's capacity for inventiveness. Two hours are allotted for the Situation Test, which assesses how well applicants utilize the materials given to them.

The NIFT situation for the B.Des program was run by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) starting in April of every year. The test was administered in an offline format for those candidates who had been selected for further consideration and had taken part in the choice-filling process beginning in March. At several NIFT campuses, the Situation Test is administered in an offline manner.

Exam Format for NIFT Situation Test

The Situation Test will be conducted offline and will last for two hours. It is a practical test where applicants are given a collection of materials to use in order to create 3D models and respond to questions on the question paper. The candidate will be required to textually describe their model in addition to creating it.

Principals of the NIFT Situation Test

Hands-on Test - The situation test is a hands-on test that assesses a candidate's aptitude for handling materials and their capacity to come up with creative solutions in a certain circumstance using a particular set of materials.
Additional content won't be offered or permitted.
Building a model: Using the materials provided, the candidate must construct a model that demonstrates their imaginative and creative thinking. The candidate should also be knowledgeable about how to visualize a room, choose colors, build things, and combine different elements. With the article describing the idea behind the model's construction, all of these parameters will be examined.
The report will be written in English since that language of instruction at NIFT 2022. No points will be given if the essay is written in another language.
Candidates will be rejected if they attempt to expose their identity in any manner, such as by writing personal information or adding identification markers to the model, design, or write-up.
On-site assessment: The jury will assess the test right away. Additionally, the model won't be saved for later use.
