DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS

Information that is broadcast to us through a screen or other device is referred to as "digital media," a broad term. Software, digital images, digital video, video games, web pages, mp3s, podcasts, streaming services, electronic documents, and e-books are some examples of digital media.

Digital media is all around us. It has become the main method for many people to receive, send, and produce content. Members of Generation Z, also known as the zoomers, or what sociologists refer to as Generation Z, are particularly affected by this. The zoomers, who were born between 1997 and 2012, were the first generation to have early access to the internet and portable digital technology. They are also referred to as "digital natives" because of this.

Zoomers prefer using voice control and images for communication over typing and texting. They frequently make new friends on social media and other platforms, many of whom they never meet in "real life." And, for better or worse, their primary source of information and entertainment is their smartphone. According to a 2015 Microsoft study, 77% of people between the ages of 18 and 25 pick up their phones when they have nothing else on their minds. Only 10% of people 65 and older shared this opinion.

DIGITAL MARKETING IN CHANGING THE WORLD:

Numerous industries, including journalism, filmmaking, publishing, education, and entertainment, have been affected by digital media. A few of the changes have been overwhelmingly favourable. People can become content creators on websites like YouTube, giving them the opportunity to share ideas, advocate for underrepresented groups, or launch their own businesses. In addition, podcasting opened a space free from the more constricting formats of traditional news sources for lengthy discussions and debates on significant topics.

The dissemination of false information, fake news, or alternative facts is just one of the issues that have arisen as a result of getting around the traditional media gatekeepers. Social media apps can promote positive change, but they can also serve as platforms for criminals looking to take advantage of social or economic tensions or polarising issues.

The emergence of digital media has been a double-edged sword, to put it another way. It has eliminated some jobs while also creating many new ones and other lucrative business opportunities. In some cases, it gives the little guy more power, while in other cases, it makes his job much harder.
