To know if NID is tougher than UCEED you need to know:

ABOUT UCEED

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay administers the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED). It is a combined entrance test for IIT-Bombay, IIT-Guwahati, and IITDM-Bachelor Jabalpur's of Design programmes.

However, only IIT Bombay and IIITDM Jabalpur accept applications from students from any other programme that does not include math, physics, chemistry, or any of the arts or humanities.

Application requirements for B.Des programmes:

To be eligible to apply for admission, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

1. Age Requirement: If applying under the OPEN or OBC-NCL categories, the candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1993; if applying under the SC, ST, or Persons with Disabilities categories, the candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1988.

2. UCEED Qualification—The candidate should have achieved a rank in UCEED in order to be qualified.

3. Qualifying Examination: In 2017 or 2018, the candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or an equivalent). People who took their qualifying examination for the first time in 2016 or before are ineligible.

ABOUT NID

NID is widely recognised as the best Indian institution for product design, product concept creation, and design innovation. NID instructs students in design and art, aesthetic sensibility, and design engineering principles. It focuses on product development, art, and aesthetics.

NID, which was founded in 1961, is renowned as being the most competitive design school in India. It only has 275 seats available in its M. Des programme and only about 100 seats in its B. Des programmes.

It is a legally recognised institution run by the Indian government's DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Due to the National Institute of Design Act of 2014, it has been designated by an Act of Parliament as a "Institution of National Importance."

NID is solely focused on design fields. There aren't many courses specifically focused on fashion. People work extensively in every design-related field, including fashion, motor vehicles, lifestyle, architecture, movies, cartoons, communication, and many more. They do not only focus on the fashion industry.

NID CURRICULUM

It takes a lot of thinking, imagination, and aesthetic awareness to be good at design. Incorporate that with the goal for which the design is being created.

As a result, design is an extremely difficult profession. Many people in India don't bother to care about this. Many people demand "cheap designs," many want post-paid service, many don't grasp it, and many of them make the task challenging. They are unaware that design is created to suit the audience, not the business. They are nevertheless quite sensitive to design.

The new NID curriculum aims to provide students with a wide range of knowledge and experiences that will hopefully cultivate a desire and capacity for lifelong learning and position them well in these turbulent times of change. Industry engagement is envisioned as a learning process that exposes students to a real-world workplace as part of an academic curriculum, assisting them in developing and enhancing their academic, personal, and professional competencies as well as a deeper understanding of the ethics and values that set a good professional apart. Regulation of students' exposure to the business environment as part of the course curriculum forms a substantial portion of the engagement programme.

Few colleges in the world can match NID's four years of providing students with the confidence and self-worth necessary to believe they are capable of achieving anything, which explains why most NID graduates find jobs very quickly. It permanently alters both your life and who you are. If you immerse yourself in it and remain committed, of course, every faculty member, course, and facility at NID is designed to help you become the greatest version of yourself and to provide a solid basis for being a reasonable and sound designer.
