The student hostel is open to all undergraduate students. A new hostel wing for female postgraduate students is now being built.
No one will force you to remain in the NID hostel, and it is not at all required. But I will point out the benefits and drawbacks of the hostel so you may decide sanely based on the same.
Outside of the university, there is a pack of dogs that do indeed bite people. It is very safe to return to the hostel late at night if you are working late in the studios.
Safety: There are security guards everywhere; you do not need to lock your cabinets because burglars cannot get inside.
There is a box room where you can store your items if you are transferring rooms after vacations. Nothing is wrong when you return from vacation.
Living away from university requires transport, brokerage, rent, and upkeep of your home or apartment.
Group work in the rooms is quite practical if you never want to work in the studio. Slumber parties might also happen every day.
Due to maintenance and repair work, students are not allowed to stay in the hostel during the summer break.
The opposing gender is not permitted.
The dormitory does not have air conditioning, although students are permitted to have coolers.
