WHAT IS NIFT? 

NIFT stands for the National Institute of Fashion Technology was established in the year 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. NIFT is a expert Institution in fashion education which provide integrate knowledge, traditional arts, contemporary thought, academic freedom, innovations in design and technology and creative thinking. NIFT, today, has spread its wings across the length and breadth of the country with its 17 campuses all over India.

HOW TO do Design course from NIFT

1. As I said, first of all you have to match the eligibility criteria first. Here is the eligibility criteria- 

• For B.Des. admissions, candidates must have pass 10+2 exam from any recognised board of secondary exam with any stream. But for B.FTech. candidates must have Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics in their 10+2 examination. 
• For M. Des candidates have to pass 10+2 examination from any university, school or board, Institute from India or any foreign country but must recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In this case B. F. Tech candidates must require PCM. 
• Candidates must Pass the Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by National Open School having a minimum five subjects of any stream. For B.FTech. candidates must have Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. 
• Candidates must have done Diploma of three or four years recognised by AICTE. B.FTech. applicants can have an engineering diploma.

2. Apply for NIFT Entrance exam

NIFT conducts entrance examination for the candidates who are seeking for admission to the B.Des and M.Des courses. There are two entrance examination organise by NIFT which are- CAT, GAT, situation test, GDPI round. 

Steps to apply-

Step1. Visti the official website of NIFT. 
Step2. Create your own log in ID with the required details. 

Step3. Log in into that site with your newly made log in ID and password. And you will get to see the application form. 
Step4. Fill up the application form with required details. 

Step5. Upload required documents such as passport size photo, signature and results. 
Step6. Most vital step is the pay application fees. 
Step7. After payment is being done, the application process will be completed. And take a print out of the form.

3. Get the above cut off marks or weightage in order to get a good rank and be in the merit list of NIFT. 

• Creative Ability Test (CAT): 40%
• General Ability Test (GAT): 30%
• Group Discussion and Personal Interview: 30%
