During the UCEED counselling process, seats will be assigned to applicants based on the UCEED rank, category, and college of choice. On the basis of these requirements, applicants who are accepted admission will receive a preliminary allotment letter at the email address they have on file.
They will be routed to the UCEED online transaction after receiving the letter of allocation, where they must pay the Rs. 60,000 seat acceptance fee.
The following rules and regulations must be followed by applicants as part of the UCEED counselling process:
Any chosen applicant who does not deposit the seat confirmation fee by the specified deadline or refuses admission will result in the cancellation of their application. Following phases of UCEED seat allocation will fill any positions left vacant by these same candidates.
Candidates who receive a seat at their first choice of institution have the option of accepting (thus freezing) the seat or rejecting the offer.
The seats that are allocated to applicants who receive their 2nd or 3rd preference (of institute) would either be accepted (that is, frozen) or "accepted with the opportunity to be reconsidered for upward mobility" (that is, floated) for second and third rounds of UCEED combined seat distribution.
A candidate who chooses the "freeze" option will not be eligible to participate in the consecutive rounds of seat allocation.
If a candidate chooses the "float" option, they declare that they "accept the provided seat and signal that, if acceptance to a higher-preference institute is allocated, they will accept it." If not, they will keep using the accepted institute. Such applicants will be taken into consideration during later admission stages, according to the formal UCEED information pamphlet.
Any applicant who chooses the "float" option and receives an offer of admission to a college of their greater preference should be aware that, in this case, they will immediately forfeit the seat they accepted in the first round.
Candidates only need to pay the seat confirmation fee once if they are offered seats based on the counselling round. Therefore, any applicant who chose the "float" option would not be required to pay the seat confirmation fee once more.
The seat confirmation fee will be deducted from the institution fees of the accepting university at the time of enrolling for applicants who accept offered seats. The return policy of the accepting institute shall apply to applicants who decline the given seat after paying the seat confirmation fee, according to the official website.
