About NID

NID stands for National Institute of design, is nationally as well as internationally one of the finest educational and research institution which provide Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated Design courses both for under-graduates and post-graduates and doctoral levels.

WHAT IS NID MAINS? 

NID conduct an entrance examination called NID DAT to take admission in B. Des and M. Des courses at NID. NID DAT is divided in to two different parts: NID prelims and NID Mains.
NID Prelims which is the written part, whereas NID mains is the part where candidates have to go for studio test and personal interview.

Experts have shared that this NID's design aptitude test is one of the most challenging design entrance exams conducted in India. NID DAT mains consist two parts such as: NID Studio test and personal Interview. 

• STUDIO TEST- 

The major part of NID mains is NID Studio test. It is compulsory for candidates to perform well in NID Studio Test in order to secure a seat in the design institute. 

• PERSONAL INTERVIEW

The next part of NID mains after studio test is personal interview round. In this round NID experts will rake interview with both tricky and normal questions. Candidates gave to take their work portfolio with them in this round.

Eligibility for NID MAINS

• For UG course General candidates must be up to 20 years of age, OBC-Non Creamy Layer/ ST/ SC candidates can get a relaxation of 3 years and PwD candidates get an exemption of 5 years. 

• For PG general category candidates candidates must born on or after July 1, 1993, OBC-NCL, SC & ST candidates must born on or after July 1, 1990, and PwD candidates must born on or after July 1, 1988.
• UG Candidates must pass their 10+2 examination with any stream from any recognised board state or national level.
• PG candidates Candidates must graduate with any courses from any recognised university. 
• Qualify NID prelims with a good percentage. 

HOW TO SIT FOR NID MAINS

To sit for NID maisn you have to follow the below steps-

Step1. Qualify NID prelims which is the first and written part. 

Step2. After the result of NID prelims, wait for the Mains admit card. 

Step3. Download the admit card for Mains. Here you dont have to fill up any form or pay any fees. 

Step4. Download and print out the admit card. Because the admit card is vital for the exam.
