The two sections of the NIFT eligibility criteria are age and academic qualification. The eligibility criteria for NIFT programs vary depending on the specialization and degree of the program. Fashion Design/ Leather Design/ Accessory Design/ Textile Design/ Knitwear Design/ Fashion Communication) for B. Des Courses Candidate must have completed their 10+2 schooling in any stream. Candidates with a 3-4 year AICTE-accredited diploma program or State Board candidates taking the 10+2 exam. Candidates who have graduated from a foreign university that is recognized by the Indian Universities Association. The candidate must be no older than 23 years old. Course in B. F. Technology (Apparel Production) Candidates who have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Math as their subjects are eligible to apply. Candidates who have graduated from a foreign university that is recognized by the Indian Universities Association Physics, Chemistry, and Math are required subjects for those taking the 10+2 test. The candidate must be no older than 23 years old. M. Des Course’s The candidate must have earned a bachelor’s degree from a reputable university. There is no upper age limit. Course in M. F. Technology Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in B. F. Tech. There is no upper age limit. Note: For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons With Disabilities, the upper age limit may be relaxed by 5 years.
