Every year, approximately 40,000 students appear for the NIFT Examination for 4517 seats. NIFT, or National Institute of Fashion Technology, is one of the prestigious institutes in the field of design in India. NIFT conducts entrance examination once every year for admission into undergraduate (Bachelor in Design, Bachelor of Fashion Technology) & postgraduate courses (Master of Fashion Technology, Master in Design) in India. The National Institute of Fashion Technology offers courses in undergraduate and postgraduate courses to students. Examination form costs INR 2000/- for Unreserved/ Other Backward Class and INR 1,000 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe. The examination centres are available in 32 cities. The exam comprises two papers- 2 hours for GAT (General Ability Test) and 3 hours for CAT (Creativity Ability Test). GAT comprises MCQ based questions. The National Institute of Technology board will release the cut-off marks after the conduction of the examination based on which they will admit the students in NIFT. 

NIFT cut off is calculated based on several factors, such as

  • The total number of applicants appearing for the NIFT examination.
  • The total number of seats of the NIFT.
  • The difficulty level of the paper and the highest marks were obtained.
  • Previous year cutoffs of the NIFT.
