Here are some helpful hints to aid in your quest for a respectable NIFT rank:
1. Sketch for three to four hours each day. It doesn't matter what you draw as long as you express your creativity and ideas while highlighting some current issues.
2. Draw inspiration from works by other artists, but never imitate or compare. Keep in mind that each person has unique qualities and skills.
3. Be original; even if your creation differs from another, never copy it. The examiners are professionals, so there is no short cut. Be original and imaginative.
4. Make an effort to practise sketching from one-, two-, and three-point perspectives.
5. Practice figure drawing and light and shadow studies.
6. Complete sample papers, papers from previous years, and numerous mock tests at various levels of readiness.
7. Get some fancy fonts practise
8. Peruse blogs and fashion magazines.
9. Follow brands and famous people on Instagram.
10. Work with the medium in which you are most comfortable. Use coloured pencils or oil pastels however you can manage them best rather than basing your decisions on what others think.
