NIFT exam pattern consists of GAT or the General Ability test, CAT or the Creative Aptitude Test, and the GD/PI. To prepare for GAT in NIFT one needs to know the syllabus as well as the exam pattern of the mentioned exam.

GAT is the very first test for the selection of B.Des and M.Des courses. Once a candidate clears GAT,B.Des and M.Des, then the candidate is required to qualify the CAT exam. However, applicants who clear both the written tests will be eligible for the Situtation test which will be again followed by Group discussion or a personal interview round. GAT is the only selection test that a candidate needs to clear for B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech and MFM.

Well, the GAT syllabus is as follows -

Quantitative ability - addition, multiplication, division, fractions, percentage, rate of interest, work and task, ratio and proportion and distance.

Communication Ability and English comprehension - Synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular , plural, one-word substitution, idiomsand phrases, correct spellings and so on.

Honestly, there is no accurate book to help you with the whole syllabus of GATexam. Mostly the GAT syllabus consists of Quantitative ability, communication ability and english comprehension.

One can practice these set of questions from the previous year question papers and could also refer to Arihant guide for chapter wise explanation.

All the best!
