The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Creative Ability Test (CAT) is a paper-based test that is conducted as part of the admissions process for NIFT's undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fashion design, technology, and management. The CAT is designed to assess the creativity, originality, problem-solving ability, and visual communication skills of the candidates.

The NIFT CAT consists of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A consists of questions related to visual perception and observation, creativity, design ability, and lateral thinking. Part B consists of questions related to language ability, communication skills, and general awareness.

In Part A, candidates are presented with a problem or a situation and are required to come up with a creative solution or response in the form of a sketch, model, or written description. They are also given a set of images and are required to identify the similarities and differences between them.

In Part B, candidates are given a passage or a set of statements and are required to complete a summary or a paragraph based on the information provided. They are also required to identify errors in the given passage or statements and correct them.

The NIFT CAT is an important part of the selection process for NIFT, as it helps the institute to identify candidates who have the potential to excel in the field of fashion design, technology, or management.
