The National Institute of Design (NID) is a prestigious institution in India that offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in design. The NID entrance exam consists of two main components: the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) and the General Aptitude Test (GAT). The General Aptitude Test (GAT) is designed to test the candidate's general knowledge, analytical and logical reasoning skills, and communication skills.

The General Aptitude Test (GAT) consists of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A of the GAT consists of multiple-choice questions that test the candidate's knowledge of current affairs, general awareness, and logical reasoning. Part B of the GAT consists of questions that test the candidate's visual perception and observation skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Some of the topics that may be covered in the General Aptitude Test (GAT) include:

  • Current affairs
  • General knowledge
  • Analytical and logical reasoning
  • Verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Visual perception and observation
  • Creative thinking
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Spatial ability
  • Environmental awareness
  • Design sensitivity

It is important to note that the NID entrance exam is highly competitive, and the syllabus for the General Aptitude Test (GAT) may vary from year to year. It is a good idea to refer to the NID website or the official exam brochure for the most up-to-date information about the syllabus for the General Aptitude Test (GAT).
