NID stands for National Institute of Design and is arguably India's leading design institution. We offer courses in Engineering, Telecommunications, Textiles, and Integrated Design for undergraduate, postgraduate, and graduate students. Each year, NID conducts a two-stage national-level entrance examination for the admission of students to the B.Des and M.Des programs offered by NID. NID's entrance examination is called NID-DAT. DAT stands for Design Aptitude Test. This exam measures a candidate's visualization skills, creativity and observation, knowledge, comprehension, analytical skills, and more.


NID DAT has two test phases: NID DAT Prelim and NID DAT Main. Candidates must pass both exams to be admitted to NID.
NID Mains
According to experts, his NID design proficiency exam is one of the toughest design entrance exams conducted in India. NID Prelims is the first level of the exam and is a written exam. After qualifying for the Qualifying Round, Candidates may compete in the Main Round. The NID DAT main consists of two parts, the NID Studio test, and the personal interview.
