NIFT conducts entrance exams for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses along with interviews and situation tests. NIFT usually conducts an entrance exam following an interview or situation test. The exam pattern for the entrance of NIFT consists of CAT meaning Creative Aptitude Test, and GAT meaning General Ability Test which follows Group Discussion or Personal Interview. Candidates who will appear for Bachelor of Design and Masters of Design will have to appear for CAT and GAT, while those who will appear for B.FTech and M.FTech will have to appear only for GAT. Moreover, the candidates of B.Des and M.Des will be further called the Situation Test.
