Hi Tejpreet! IIAD offers various courses and there is an entrance exam which candidates have to crack to get the courses. Here is the exam pattern and what subjects to have to study to get chance to study at IIAD ofr you! 

WHAT IS IIAD? 

The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) is the prestigious design school situated in New Delhi, know for their design and communication courses. IIAD New Delhi was named the "Best Communication Design College in India by Asia Today” at the Asian Education Summit and Awards 2021. The courses IIAD offers such as Fashion Designing, Communication Designing, Interior Architecture and Designing, Fashion Business Management, Fashion Communication, etc.

IIAD ENTRANCE EXAM

Candidates must pass the entrance examination which is being conducted by IIAD themselves. Entrance exams are the only way to get chance in IIAD. Entrance exams such as IDAT, IMAT, personal interview, studio stimulation.

  • To study Interior Architecture & Design, Fashion Design, Fashion Communication and Communication Design courses you need to crack iDAT. 
  • To study fashion business management course you need to crack iMAT. 
  • After cracking iDAT or iMAT you need to sit for GDPI round which is personal interview round. 
  • And lastly, there are studio stimulation round for every one. 

Subject you must study for IIAD exam

iDAT-

this paper is divided into two sections, section A: logical reasoning and section B: Creative Thinking and Visual Aptitude. The questions comes from topics such as- visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word answers and multiple choice questions. 

  • Topics of logical reasoning: Numerical Series Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Statement and Assumptions, Statement and Conclusions, Cause and Effects, Assertion, Syllogisms, Number Series, Incomplete Logical Sequences of Numbers, Shapes, Words, Figures, Odd One Out, Logical Decision.
  • Topics of creative thinking and visual aptitude: Design and Drawing Skills, Imagination and Creative Expressions, Visual and Observation Skills, Picture Construction Task.

 

IMAT-

IIAD's Management Aptitude Test is a written test designed to examine candidate’s language, logical reasoning and creative thinking. This paper consists multiple choice questions and writing tasks.


GDPI ROUND-

where candidates have to interact with the interviewer. In this part candidates have to face the tough and tricky questions. Candidates have to prepare a portfolio which will consist 2D and 3D models they have made till then. The interviewer will judge candidates on the basis of that portfolio. 

 

Studio stimulation round-

in this part candidates have to form a group and complete tasks of making 3D model with only given objects or materials. This part is creative part. Candidates need to prepare well and polish their creative skills to crack this part.
