Hi Shweta! If you want to take a proper preparation for NATA you must check your eligibility criteria first. Then check the exam pattern and syllabus which will help you to determine how many days you will need to get prepare for. Get some good books, in case if you want to join any coaching you must join it from the beginning. Solve lots of sample paper also previous year question papers. This is how you can take preparation for NATA. 

ABOUT NATA

NATA, National aptitude test for architecture, is an entrance exam which is conducted by National Institute of advanced studies in architecture (NIASA) the body of council of Architecture in India. This entrance exam is a national level examination. Students who are willing to study Bachelor of architecture or some other relevant architecture courses at all recognized institutions across India, can give NATA after their 12th examination.

How to get prepare for NATA

1. Eligibility criteria

  • you need to complete your 10+2 examination with 50% marks in compulsory subjects of Maths, chemistry and physics.
  • you need to complete 10+3 diploma with 50% marks in compulsory subject Maths. 

2. Exam pattern

NATA is a 2 parted exam which measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability. The exam will be for 3 hours and total marks will be 200.

  • first part- paper based drawing test
  • second part- online test with MCQs on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Aptitude Test.

3. Syllabus for NATA

  • Drawing includes memory drawing, shades, shadows, 2D compositions, visualisation, perspective drawing etc. 
  • Aptitude test includes Diagrammatic Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Inductive Reasoning, Situational Judgment, Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning. 
  • Mathematics include algebra, logarithm, matrices, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, 3D coordination of geometry, theory of calculus, application of calculus, permutation and combination, statistics and probability.
  • NATA also includes questions from Physics and chemistry in which class 10-12 studies are important. 

4. Good books for NATA preparation

Select best books for guidance like R. S. Agarwal for quantitative aptitude, Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning, P. K. Mishra for general practice and many more. Download previous year questions or books of questions banks which will give you knowledge about exam pattern and question types.

5. Good Coachings

SILICA, BRDS, INCEPTO design academy, Swayam art academy, design keeda academy etc. 

6. Solve sample papers and previous year question 

various websites and coaching Institute will provide you previous year question paper and many sample papers. Some coaching will take mock tests also. Practice those question paper regularly. It will help you to solve question paper within time. 

7. Cut off

Lastly, make a target that you have to achieve this much score. Cut off depends on each college. You need to get the above score of you favorable college's cut off marks.
