WHAT IS IIAD? 

The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) is the prestigious design school situated in New Delhi, know for their design and communication courses. IIAD New Delhi was named the "Best Communication Design College in India by Asia Today” at the Asian Education Summit and Awards 2021. The courses IIAD offers such as Fashion Designing, Communication Designing, Interior Architecture and Designing, Fashion Business Management, Fashion Communication, etc.

Eligibility criteria

To get into IIAD, candidates need to pass the basic eligibility criteria. Here is the basic eligibility criteria-

  • For Under graduation courses, candidates must pass their 10+2 examination in any relevant stream from any recognized board with aggregate 50% marks. 
  • For post graduation courses, candidates must pass their graduation degree in any relevant stream from any recognized university. 
  • Candidates must pass the entrance examination which is being conducted by IIAD themselves. Entrance exams are the only way to get chance in IIAD. Entrance exams such as IDATIMATpersonal interviewstudio stimulation

IIAD ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

  1. IDAT: IIAD’s Design Aptitude Test is a written test to examine candidate’s creative and visual ability, cultural awareness and logical thinking. This paper consist visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word answers and multiple choice questions. Candidates who are willing to pursue Interior and Architecture DesignFashion Designcommunication designfashion communication and fashion designing; have to go through IDAT.
  2. IMAT: IIAD's Management Aptitude Test is a written test designed to examine candidate’s language, logical reasoning and creative thinking. This paper consists multiple choice questions and writing tasks. Candidates who are willing to pursue fashion business management, must go through IMAT. 
  3. Personal interview: In Personal Interview candidates will have face to face interaction with IIAD to determine their stability. IIAD will guide the candidates about how the programme meet their aspirations and interests with understanding. Candidates have to go through this step after giving IMAT and IDAT for Fashion business management and fashion design courses. 
  4. Studio simulation: It is a workshop where eligible candidates will form small groups and create a 3D model using given materials. This assessment is to determine the skills of making, creative thinking, problem-solving & team work within candidates. 

Passing the entrance exam of your preferred course with marks which will match the cut off, will lead you to get selected for IIAD.
