Can I crack NATA without preparation?

No! You cant ever crack any entrance exam without any basic preparation. Although, NATA questions comes from 10-12th standard syllabus and based on your general ability and creative ability, you still need to prepare for NATA to score the best mask and get chance to study at top notch college as per your preference. 

START PREPARATION FOR NATA:

1. SEE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-

NATA is the national entrance test to get admission for B. Arch course in Indian institutions. This entrance exam has different criteria. 

you need to complete your 10+2 examination with 50% marks in compulsory subjects of Maths, chemistry and physics. 
you need to complete 10+3 diploma with 50% marks in compulsory subject Maths. 
Without score of PCM compulsory subjects in 10+2 or 10+3, your NATA score will be useless. 

 

2. GO THROUGH THE SYLLABUS-

Drawing includes memory drawing, shades, shadows, 2D compositions, visualisation, perspective drawing etc. NATA drawing part is totally depend on your creativity and ability. You need to practice more and more to improve your skills and ideas. You need to be creative, because creativity is necessary in this field. 
 Aptitude test includes Diagrammatic Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Inductive Reasoning, Situational Judgment, Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning. 
Mathematics include algebra, logarithm, matrices, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, 3D coordination of geometry, theory of calculus, application of calculus, permutation and combination, statistics and probability.
NATA also includes questions from Physics and chemistry in which class 10-12 studies are important. As well as includes general aptitude test with mathematical reasoning, sets and relations. 
 

3. GO THROUGH THE EXAM PATTERN-

NATA measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability by 2parted exams. The exam will be of 3hours and total marks will be 200.

first part- paper based drawing test
second part- online test with MCQs on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Aptitude Test.
 

4. WATCH YOUR BASIC SKILLS-

You need to have basic knowledge about drawing and sketching, because without drawing the structure of building in paper with pen, you cant make a building just by assumptions. So you need to have basic skills of drawing combining with highly measurement knowledge. For that you need to get your maths strong. You need to know all these skills you have or not. How many months you should take to get prepare for NATA will depend on your basic skills. 

 

5. MAKE A PLAN, SET A GOAL! 

You need to make a plan to revise the written part because all the questions from written part will come from 10-12 standard syllabus. So, I wont be difficult for you if your background had PCM combination. 
You need to practice drawing everyday, because NATA is all about testing you creativity and aptitude. 
Select best books for guidance like R. S. Agarwal for quantitative aptitude, Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning, P. K. Mishra for general practice and many more. Download previous year questions or books of questions banks which will give you knowledge about exam pattern and question types. 
Good strategy will make you prepare for NATA within 1or 2 months. 
 

6. CHECKOUT THE DATES AND FILLUP THE FORM-

NATA conduct 3times in a year, so you need to keep a keen eye on the dates. NATA release separate dates for form fill up, exams and results.
