While an understanding of engineering drawings is beneficial, the NID entrance exam focuses on aesthetics and an understanding of how a design is created and how it works. You will encounter more commonplace objects to deal with, so pay close attention to your immediate surroundings. Draw everything around you or find reference pictures and draw them quickly.
It is also important to know how good your examiner thinks you are.
This is a three-hour written exam worth 100 points.

Mental ability and communication skills are assessed using a variety of visual and textual questions.
You must study English, including passages, synonyms and antonyms, sentence completion, and so on. Basic math up to class 10 will be tested in the mathematics section. Maintain your knowledge of current events and general knowledge scenarios. Learn about the history of fine arts in India as well as Europe, and so on. If you want to be a professional artist or designer, you should be familiar with global art and aesthetics.
Practice answering multiple-choice questions, writing short comic-strip-style stories, and searching the Internet for posters. You can also practise caricature drawing or realistic anatomical drawing. Make models out of everyday items such as drinking straws, tennis balls, tape, u-pins, and so on as quickly as possible. Watch movies and pay attention to the acting, direction, cinematography, background music, and theme.
Create a portfolio of paintings, sketches, portraits, and photographs. You can also present an online portfolio.
